Twenty-five years ago today, National Lampoon's Vacation premiered in theatres.
It is arguably the funniest road trip flick ever made.
Starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo and a young Anthony Michael Hall, the movie documents the Griswald family's comedic cross-country drive from Chicago to the Walley World theme park.
The star studded supporting cast included funny-men John Candy and Eugene Levy, and supermodel Christie Brinkley.
The movie's box-office success spurred four sequels: European Vacation (1985), Christmas Vacation (1989) Las Vegas Vacation (1997), and Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure (2003).
